Planning Board Minutes

 

The Town of Royalton Planning Board Meeting was held on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at the Royalton Town Hall, 5316 Royalton Center Road, Middleport, New York. The meeting was called to order at 7:11 PM by Chairman – Kevin Covel.

 

The following were present:

Chairman - Kevin Covel

Board Members – Jesse Bieber, Tom Arlington, Heather Lewis, Stacey Johnston and Patricia Hinds

Absent – None

Other Officials – Carol Wittcop, Board Member

Other Attendees – Stephen P. Phillips, Jane P. Phillips

 

We welcome our new member Stacey Johnson.

 

MOTION: A motion made by Tom Arlington to accept the minutes from the August 23, 2017 Planning Board Meeting with corrections. Corrections made on the Phillips project update and discussion on the Town Topics distribution.

 

Motion: Jesse Bieber Seconded: Tom Arlington ALL IN FAVOR

 

CORRESPONDENCE RECEIVED & DISTRIBUTED: - We received training notice from Marie L. Little, Town Clerk regarding NYS Department of State Division of Local Government Services Training for Local Boards. This training will be held at Niagara County Community College, on October 12, 2017 from 5:00 PM – 9:30 PM.

 

OPEN FOR DISCUSSION:

 

OLD BUSINESS:

We are still working on the Escarpment Overlay project. We are reviewing at Cambria Escarpment overlay for ideas.

 

Patricia Hinds to get with Dan Bragg, Supervisor on the price to update the Comprehensive Plan.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

Heather Lewis handed out the following for us to read over for next month to discuss.

 

1.) Niagara Escarpment Overlay Zoning Guide dated April 2010 prepared by Bay-Lake Regional Planning Commission

2.) Cambria Escarpment Overlay – Article VIII Escarpment District

3.) Map of the Town of Royalton, Niagara County Escarpment, Escarpment and Parcels

 

We received the architect plans from Stephen P. Phillips and Jane P. Phillips for a new location for an Amusement Center. The new address is located on Rochester Road, Gasport, next to the Dollar General. They will have a post frame building 136 feet by 72 feet with about 30 parking spots.

 

A motion to approve the architect plans for the building of the Amusement Center.

 

Motion : Heather Lewis Seconded: Tom Arlington ALL IN FAVOR

 

Site plan for Red White and Blue storage units located at 8950 Rochester Road, Gasport, NY. Applicant’s name is Mike Marotta. The proposed addition to Red White and Blue was for a fence around the facility and a stone pad for the outdoor storage building. This was tabled until next month as Mike Marotta was not at the meeting tonight.
